For over a decade, Matt Corica has created innovative, boundary-pushing scholastic theatre with a commitment to the development of his students as young actors and young people. With experience in music, technical theatre, and Shakespeare, he works to build a program from year-to-year that challenges actors and audience alike with a variety of shows across the theatrical spectrum - plays from Caryl Churchill to Anton Chekhov to Mary Zimmerman; musicals from Cole Porter to Stephen Sondheim to David Yazbeck. As a director, Matt strives to create a positive and safe rehearsal environment with a commitment to the dignity of his actors, instilling a spirit of collaboration and shared responsibility that has become a hallmark of his programs. Matt holds a BA in Music with minor concentrations in Shakespeare and Dramatic Literature from The George Washington University; he lives in northern New Jersey with his wife and their two children.
